THE NEXT LIST INTRODUCES THE WORLD TO TODAY’S LEADING INNOVATORS

Hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, The Next List is a 30-minute program that airs Saturday afternoons on CNN. On each episode, Gupta profiles innovators and visionaries who are working to transform the world as they pave the path to the future with their revolutionary ideas. The “Next Lister” featured tells their story about how they’re trying to change the world, the challenges they faced along the way, and their innovative approaches to overcoming obstacles. These Next Listers aren’t household names – yet. But they are movers and shakers in their own worlds, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta wants to introduce them to the world.

The show premiered in November of 2011, and has featured guests from cyber-illusionist Marco Tempest to ukelele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro. Each Next Lister is asked to sign their name to the list by writing it backwards on a glass window. This unique sign-in pays homage to Leonardo DaVinci, Renaissance artist and innovator known for writing backwards with the aid of a mirror.

Sneak peeks of upcoming episodes can by found on The Next List blog. The blog offers teasers of upcoming episodes, along with posts written by Next Listers and interviews with various innovators. On the blog right now, you can read about Graham Hill, an environmentalist who evangelizes for a less material-obsessed population, and Izhar Gafni, whose cardboard bike is waterproof, durable, and uses just $9 of materials.
